Position: Deputy Senior Manager - General Audit

Location: Internal Audit Division / Head Office

Required Qualification & Experience:

Bachelors’ degree in accountancy with minimum of 5 years of experience while performing internal audits in banking industry pertaining to functions such as Investment Banking, Project Finance, Corporate Banking, SME Banking, Treasury, Finance, Risk Management Department. Preferred additional accounting professional qualification such as ACCA/CA/CPA would be an added advantage.

General Requirements / Skills & Competencies:

  • Undertaking audit assignments including pertaining to Investment Banking, Project Finance, Corporate Banking, SME Banking, Treasury, Finance, Risk Management Departments within the bank as per the annual audit plan
  • Based on the nature of audit engagement and individual competencies, may be required to undertake audits alone also and report the findings/observations for further review(s) and approval prior to finalization of the audit report
    • Maintain at all times, the confidentiality of any Alizz bank information being reviewed as part of a bank audit
    • Ensure quality in performance and documentation of audit engagements with mindset focusing on continuing innovation and seeking ways to do things better by leveraging new processes and latest techniques including participation and leading knowledge transfer sessions, research on topics and collaboration
    • Quality time spent in audit planning, Consideration of findings from the regulators, external auditors, emerging trends, CBO circulars, Global frameworks and risks in the audit plan, Risk coverage – newly identified relevant risks, Use of data analytics and technology to mitigate risk, increase coverage and achieve efficiencies, Updates to audit programs, etc.
    • Undertake in depth testing of business controls to identify and assess risk to the achievement of the business objectives, substantiating findings and making recommendations to optimize controls, influencing change as appropriate.
    • Plan, organize and manage personal workload to deliver a quality product to time and cost, avoiding conflicting demands regarding task delivery.
    • Quality working papers compliant with the department’s standards for review by the audit manager
    • Develop strong working business relationships to enhance knowledge of the business and to influence the implementation of audit findings
    • Prioritize towards criticality/quality of recommendations along with the number of recommendations implemented as a percentage of the total recommendations made and effective follow up done with the auditees, so that SMART agreed action plans are agreed by management and which are duly followed up for ensuring their timely and effective implementation by the management
    • Assist where appropriate, in special investigations or consulting services undertaken by the IAD team.
    • Commit to sessions planned by other colleagues in Internal Audit Department, supporting them in presenting and adding value to the department.
    • Contribute towards additional initiatives which add value to the bank and employee belongingness towards the bank such as by engaging in Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives undertaken by the bank
  • Consultancy services within the bank which involve either of sharing insights, providing advice or other aspects which are aligned with Internal Audit Charter and post requisite approval(s) and agreement of the scope to ensure continuing independence of IAD as third line of defense.

  • A deep understanding of risk and control within their area of specialism.

Position: Manager – Financial Institutions

Location: Treasury and Financial Institutions Division - WSB Group / Head Office

Required Qualification & Experience:

Preferred University Degree Holder in Business or equivalent education is preferred. The ideal candidate will have previous Credit Analysis & Relationship Management experience, within a Wholesale Banking environment and at least 5 years of specific FI (Financial Institutions) experience, preferably covering GCC and MENA region and any other professional related certificate will add advantage.

General Requirements / Skills & Competencies:

  • To perform and manage all activities pertaining to financial institutions business including business development, revenue generation and relationship management as per set norms, guidelines and processes followed by the bank.
  • Responsible for generating revenue from financial Institutions transactions and services.
  • Establish, promote and onboard financial Institutions and correspondent relationships by requesting for the relevant documentations for review, confirmation and to facilitate seamless transactions.
  • Develop, promote and support the growth of the bank FI business through managing ongoing portfolio and correspondence relationship;
  • Provide a deep level of analysis of the credit-worthiness of FI specific transactions outlining the following: terms and conditions, deal structure, client financial analysis, credit risks, transaction profitability and deal rationale. 
  • Provide proactive, comprehensive and timely credit analysis to Credit & Senior Management.
  • Ensure compliance to Bank Operational Risk Policy, Anti-Money Laundering Prevention policy and other relevant policies to ensure compliance to internal and external controls.
  • Generate process efficiencies measured by:  All renewal credit applications to be submitted within due date;  Absolute adherence to all E-CDD (client due diligence) policies and regulations; Absolute adherence to country sanctions regulations. No breaches; Quality of data and client information on different systems.
  • Responsible to ensure that all queries and complaints pertaining to Financial Institutions are addressed and resolved in a timely manner, so as to maintain high-level service customer service.
  • Protectively Cross-Sell products, including investments and other banking solutions to maximize business.
  • Acquire and manage relationships with Financial Institutions by constantly reviewing their business needs on a case-by-case basis.
  • Responsible for driving innovation, sustainability, and development within the team and for collaboration with other parts of bank.
  • Capable of performing good market research and have excellent Financials Statements analytical skills
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the client's industry, business cycles, and other relevant factors and having High analytical skills
  • Will work as a team member and independently with excellent time management skills to manage and  plan  tactical activities to ensure overall business success  and provides good quality of work
  • Highly flexible and can adjust priorities on an ongoing process
  • Outstanding communication / presentation skills both written and verbal is essential; efficient in writing and structuring reports
