As part of its commitment to community development, Alizz Islamic Bank supported the 1st “Kaderoon Forum” that was aimed at rehabilitating, training and employing people with disabilities. The forum was organised by the Ministry of Civil Service in cooperation with ASAAS Muscat and Oman Association for Disabled.

The aim of the first forum was to integrate people with disabilities into society in all fields by supporting them to find jobs that suit their potential. It also aimed to provide them with appropriate training and rehabilitation that focuses on their potentials and abilities to enable them to contribute to the overall development process.

The opening ceremony was attended by H.E Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Nadabi, Undersecretary of Oman's Ministry of Civil Service for Civil Service Affairs and in the presence of dignitaries and members of Oman Association for Disabled.

The forum included a number of sessions and presentations of working papers. On the first day, the session focused on the topic ‘Pioneering Experiences’. The second day had a session that dealt with the subject of ‘The role of institutions in supporting people with disabilities. The final day of the forum centered on the theme ‘The role of institutions in employment of people with disabilities’.

The ceremony began with a speech by Mariam Bint Mubarak Al-Farsi from ASAAS Muscat and Chairperson of the Media Committee of the “Kaderoon forum”, in which she said ‘It’s been over a year since we launched the process for this initiative. We are keen on integrating people with disabilities withing society in all fields by helping them get jobs suited to their potential and by providing them with appropriate training and rehabilitation. We hope to promote the principle of equality in the workplace and help develop their abilities which will enhance their self-confidence.”
